Traqstudio will work with the ChaseCam recorders/cameras or with your own video camera as well as select Sony HDR Camera's. With most tape cameras, such as mini-DV camcorders, you will have to capture the video onto your computer using Windows Movie Maker or the software that came with the camcorder.
Great upgrade for those who wish to add the extra element of synchronized video and data/video creation to the data capabilities of our existing Traqview software product.
What's the difference between Traqview and Traqstudio?
Traqview is our free DATA analysis software.
TraqStudio contains all the capabilities of Traqview with the addition of synchronized video in a window capability and one-button background video writing. It will play the video along with the data or you can go full-screen. Video and data both have single-step and 2x playback making it easy to analyze what is happening in the car.
What types of video files are supported?
Traqstudio supports the ChaseCam MPEG-2, MPEG-1, and the popular WMV and AVI formats in 4:3 (standard TV and PC) format. It also supports MPEG-4 H.264 used in iPhone and HD and GoPro MJPEG & GoPro HD. You will need Windows XP or Vista and most computers will run the video at realtime speeds. Obviously faster is better. With digital video formats, Traqstudio will play from a high-speed Compact Flash or SD card when used with a USB 2.0 high-speed reader.
What are the limitations?
TraqStudio is a video player and has the capability to create videos that can be uploaded to the web (YouTube), saved or shared on a PC, or written to a DVD. TraqStudio will not directly write DVDs. You will need Windows DVD Maker or similar DVD authoring program.
Traqstudio can only play video for one driver at a time.
When used with a camera other than our TraqCam setup, the user must synchronize the data and video manually. This is relatively easy with the powerful synchronization tools provided.
Traqstudio cannot currently
Write HD videos but can play them with synchronized gauges for analysis. However if you convert the Sony MTS video files to MP4 then you can write them. Instructions and software links are in the forum and in the user manual.

Laptops with these minimum specs are available in the $700 - $1000 range. Lower resolution 720P and 1080 in a less-than-fullscreen window require less horsepower.
